finally

…I shall introduce y'all to 3 places.

1) There is Execration. A vengeful, sinuous body of water on the outskirts of my psyche. It is black and bottomless, and all the maps stop there. Maritime monstrosities abound, blood is as abundant as water, but it is so dark that one is blind. It is a cloud of mayhem and murder. All the abominations you can imagine, they're all there, inside the metaphor.

2) There is also The Void. Beyond Execration there lies an indeterminate wasteland. The alluvial equivalent of the Calm Belt in OnePiece. Nothing really happens. The mood is perhaps more lachrymose than Execration: there is neither progress nor regression. In Execration, you kill to survive. Hence there is an inspiration (however decadent) to live. Here, time just sucks survival right out of you. And there's nothing you can do about it.

I've never noticed before that Execration and The Void are so intimately linked. Straining my ears, I can hear the obstreperous, recalcitrant waves refusing to give in to the deadening silence. Nor did I notice that The Void is one of two landings after wading out of onto the shore and shaking the inky black water out of your hair.

3) And then there is The Haven. It is quite inexplicable. It is not like the Heaven some believe in, where everything is perfect. In The Haven, the Powers that Be lift the lid of Pandora's Box ever so slightly once in a very blue moon. The potential of threat is controlled and monitored, just like the amount of sugar in mother's curry. Other than that, The Haven is a simple, well (but not ostentatiously) decorated place, with a warm fireplace where we gather around and tell our stories.

The Haven is the second possible coast, on the other side of Execration. The borders of these places are a source of constant dispute, just like India and Pakistan.

4) Finally, there is something called Wanderlust. It is not as much a place as it is a process. Some characters experience Wanderlust, and it is these that know me best. They are precious gems which I will treasure till death claims me, or I drown in Execration.
